This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you when you visit our website or submit information to us.

The terms "you" and "your" refer to visitors to the website and people who submit directory, correction, removal, advertising, sponsorship, or other requests.

Information you provide

We may collect information that you voluntarily provide through our forms or by contacting us, including:

  • Your role or relationship to an organization;

  • The name, website, social-media page, or current directory page for an organization or public resource;

  • Categories, county, general service area, ages or grades served, homeschool connection, public contact information, source links, and other listing details;

  • Information needed to correct or remove an existing listing;

  • Information included in advertising, sponsorship, or other business inquiries; and

  • Any other information you choose to include in a message or form submission.

Please submit only public information that may appropriately appear in the directory. Do not submit private meeting addresses, sensitive personal details, or another person's private contact information without permission.

Public directory information

Information submitted about an organization, program, business, or public resource may be reviewed, edited for clarity or consistency, and published in the HomeschoolHSV directory. Public listing information may include the organization's name, description, service area, ages or grades served, public contact details, and source links.

We do not publish a submitter's personal email address or other personal contact information as part of a directory listing unless the submitter clearly identifies that information as the organization's public contact information or otherwise gives permission.

Submitting information does not guarantee that a listing will be added, changed, or removed.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, Squarespace and analytics services may automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, and information about how you use the website. We use this information to operate and secure the site, understand site traffic, and improve the directory.

Cookies and similar technologies

HomeschoolHSV uses cookies and similar technologies for purposes such as:

  • Essential website functions and security provided by Squarespace;

  • Website traffic and usage analytics, including Google Analytics and Squarespace Analytics; and

Analytics information is retained according to our settings and the applicable provider's policies. Information stored by Squarespace, Google, Lasso, affiliate networks, or other service providers may be retained according to those providers' policies and our account settings.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information. No website, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

HomeschoolHSV is intended for parents, guardians, educators, organization leaders, and other adults seeking or sharing homeschool resources. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
